St. Martin's 16th season opens with a glorious celebration of the mysterious, gorgeous choral music of the Russian Orthodox Church. Magnificent works from pre-Revolution Russia by Kalinnikov, Titov, Tchaikovsky, Bortniansky, Rachmaninov and others. [Concert program] [Program notes]
II. The Unknown
Masterpiece Why do some great composers'
reputations last through the centuries, while other worthy musicians fade into
the mists of time? In this Cameo* concert St.
Martin's and our audience explore this fascinating question. The Missa
Praeparata Corda Vestra by Steffano Bernardi (17th century) and

nouvelet", with the
Baroque Chamber St. Martin's teams up with Denver's finest period instrument orchestra for the region's most sublime holiday program, featuring Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit pour Noël (“Midnight Mass for Christmas”). [Concert program] [Program notes]
IV. De-constructing
Bach Celebrate the 325th anniversary
of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach as SMCC Artistic Director Tim Krueger and
an ensemble of 12 singers examine Bach's superb choral fugues. This
audience-interactive program features fugues from Bach's motets, as well as
fugues by J.C.F. Bach and C.P.E. Bach.
V. Chori Antiphoni, with the Colorado Chorale St. Martin's and the Colorado Chorale, one of Denver's most respected community choral groups, collaborate in this program of works for two choirs of unequal size. The featured work will be Louis Spohr's Mass, op. 54. The concert will also include works by Britten, Aguiar, Kverno, Biebl, Vodnansky, J.S. Bach and others. [Concert program] [Program notes]
VI. "With Fresh Ears...": Music of the 20th and 21st centuries St. Martin's concludes its season with a dynamic concert of works from the 20th and 21st centuries. The program will include the world premiere of Robert Baksa's Mass, as well as Zoltán Kodály's Jesus and the Traders, Son of God by Philip Cannon, Three Motets by Edmund Rubbra,and Bar xizam,by the rising Minnesota composer Abbie Betinis.
