I would like to recommend looking around in our website itself for some great new photographs that scroll along the top, and an updated look for our 22nd Season. This is all the work of our web designer (and soprano extraordinaire) Ashley Hoffman, and graphic artist Sarah Edgell, whom we’ve employed for the last three or four years in designing the “look” of each successive season (including brochures, adverts, programs, e-blasts, stationery, website – everything). I couldn’t be more thrilled with the work of these two visionary women, assisted by our executive director Steve Grupe, with input from me and members of the board.

By the way, no fewer than three people in the last week, in the course of routine conversation, have said to me “Oh, I keep intending to purchase my season tickets, but just haven’t gotten around to it!” If these three persons are anything like a representative sample, there are a lot more of you out there! So, let me recommend, while you’re at the website as recommended above, that you go ahead and purchase your season tickets! I think it’s a marvelous season, not only with the above Menotti, but also the following highlights:

  • Regional premiere of a long-lost 4-hand piano version of the Mozart Requiem by Carl Czerny (November)
  • Christmas in Bavaria, including a charming choral/orchestral oratorio by Heinrich von Herzogenberg, collaborating with instrumentalists from the Pro Musica Colorado Chamber Orchestra (December)
  • A concert of mystical chant, incorporating Joaquin Nin-Culmell’s atmospheric Symphonie des Mysteres with organist Richard Robertson, which was given its premiere recording by SMCC and Robertson in 1999 (February)
  • Charles Wood’s powerful “St. Mark Passion” on Palm Sunday (March)

It’s going to be a great season, and you won’t want to miss a thing! Plus, season tickets represent about 20-25% savings over at-the-door prices. If this sounds like something you’d like to follow up on, just click on “Buy Tickets” in the menu bar above where you’ll see your options. It couldn’t be easier!
