Mozart Requiem

St. Martin’s Chamber Choir joins forces with Symphony of the Rockies under the baton of conductor Devin Patrick Hughes for a powerful performance of one of the greatest masterpieces ever composed. That Mozart died before completing it, perhaps realizing it was to be a Requiem for himself, adds a profound poignancy to its depths. As a fitting prelude to the Requiem, maestro Timothy Krueger will lead the Dixit Dominus by Marianne Martines, a contemporary of Mozart and student of Haydn, whose works are being rediscovered and reexamined. This gifted female composer has begun to take a place alongside her male contemporaries that she always deserved.
