Noted for her “youthful creativity” and “exceptional attention to detail,” soprano vocalist Andrea Messina Weidemann enjoys her varied musical life – from Monteverdi to Wagner; from Dallas to Denver.
As a dedicated chorus singer, Andrea has had recent engagements with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Verdigris Ensemble, The Texas Voices, Opera Colorado, Highland Park Chorale, Ars Nova Singers, and numerous music ministries across CO and TX. Equally at home as a soloist, she has been featured with Boulder Opera Company, Opera Fort Collins, Musikanten Montana, Arlington Master Chorale, Seicento Baroque Ensemble, and the Cheyenne and Flower Mound Symphony Orchestras. She was a finalist in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition in 2022, and won first place in the 2016 DFW Chapter NATS Competition. Artistic highlights include Pamina in The Magic Flute, soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C, and Johanna in Sweeney Todd.
Andrea’s upcoming projects include Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and David Lang’s the little match girl passion. In 2026 she will return to the Bravo!Vail Festival to sing in Madama Butterfly with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Andrea has a passion for interdisciplinary art across many genres and media, as well as a deep love for flora, fauna, movement, and travel. She is excited to make her debut with SMCC in Musica Scholastica!
