De Temporis Natura

John White’s Horae Canonicae (The Canonical Hours) is an exposition on the nature of time through a single day, from pre-dawn hours to sunset, by way of the eight daily monastic offices. St. Martin’s premiered and recorded this work almost 20 years ago, and reprises it for the first time. Also on the program is Marianne Martines’s Miserere, one of her major works. This lesser known composer was a contemporary of Mozart and Haydn.
